What is the UCAT?

The University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT) is an admissions test used by many universities in Australia and New Zealand to help them achieve greater fairness in candidate selection.

List A

OzTREKK only requires one copy of each document, even if you are applying to multiple programs.

All PDF documents must be submitted via the myOzTREKK portal. Please do not send via email. We will confirm receipt of your documents as we receive them, so you can keep track.

List A – Required for All Undergraduate-entry Dentistry Applications

❑   OzTREKK requires one copy of your official transcript, from all institutions at which you’ve studied (must be in English). Please send transcripts via

  • Mail: Transcripts in their original, sealed envelopes must be mailed to the OzTREKK Office; or
  • Email: Transcripts must be sent from the school office/admissions office directly or through an official transcript service (e.g., Parchment or MyCreds) to transcripts@oztrekk.com. If you need to have a password on the digital transcript, please use the following:
    • Question: The educational agent that I am working with
    • Password: OZTREKK1 (no spaces, all capitals); or if there’s a character limit or an access code requirement, use 1234.

What if my documents are not in English?
If your documents are not in English, you must provide full translation of each document, either prepared by your university or by a registered translator. You must not translate the documents yourself.

Please note OzTREKK must receive the official translation directly from the university or translator in order to certify the document. Have questions? Check out How do I send my transcripts?

❑  Copy of your passport photo page (PDF) submitted via the myOzTREKK portal
❑  Complete the OzTREKK SSVF Form – This information is collected to meet compliance requirements. If we require further information, we may contact you.

If you’ve submitted all the documents in LIST A, the applications to the following programs are complete:

  • Charles Sturt University – Bachelor of Dental Science
  • Griffith University – Bachelor of Dental Health Science & Master of Dentistry

Additional documents required by our other undergraduate-entry dentistry programs. Please submit all remaining documents as PDFs via the myOzTREKK portal unless otherwise instructed.

 

James Cook University – Bachelor of Dental Surgery

❑  JCU BDS Supplemental Application Form – Fillable document; e-signature required.
❑   Maximum of 3 reference letters (optional) – Must be sent directly from the referees by mail or to admissions1@oztrekk.com.

 

La Trobe University – Bachelor of Dental Science

❑  La Trobe Personal Statement – Fillable document

 

University of Queensland – Bachelor of Dental Science

❑  UQ Application Authority Form – E-signature required
❑  UQ requires the UCAT ANZ. Please send proof of your registration.

 

University of Western Australia – Bachelor of Biomedicine (Specialised), Doctor of Dental Medicine

❑   UWA Prediction of Academic Achievement Form (PDF) – Only required if you have not yet completed your high school studies.
❑   Official ISAT score report (PDF)

  • Deadline to register for ISAT: April 17, 2023
  • Minimum ISAT score: Above 25th percentile in each section
  • Validity: 2 years
  • How to register: Contact ACER – Nominate UWA as a preference when you register. Important: You must register using the same email address that you use to contact OzTREKK/apply.

University of Melbourne – Doctor of Dental Surgery

❑   University of Melbourne DDS prerequisite form
❑   Official CDA DAT or ADA DAT score report (A4 Melbourne recipient code)
❑   Read the Melbourne Admissions Guide

University of Otago – Bachelor of Dental Surgery

❑   University of Otago Application Cover Sheet
❑   Resume/CV
❑   Personal Statement – While there aren’t any posted guidelines, it’s recommended to outline your reasons for applying for dentistry at Otago and what you hope to gain from it/why you want to be a dentist. You could also include any relevant volunteer or work experience you feel has impacted this decision.
❑   Course outlines to prove that you have taken course equivalent to and have achieved a minimum of B in each of the following:

 

University of Sydney – Doctor of Dental Medicine

❑   Official CDA DAT or ADA DAT score report (A5 Sydney recipient code)
❑   Be sure to read the Sydney Admissions Guide and Sydney Admissions Timeline.
❑   $150 AUD Sydney application fee paid directly to the university (link will be provided). Please let us know if you do not wish to pay the application fee and we will cancel your application.

 

University of Western Australia – Doctor of Dental Medicine

❑   Official CDA DAT or ADA DAT or MCAT score report (A8 UWA recipient code)
